 Participation is open to young people studying for a qualification in vocational education who have been born in 1991 or after. The vocational basic degree training refers to an education that will lead to a basic degree, or that is a preliminary training in an institute or as an apprentice.

Category Description and Prerequisites for the Qualification

The competition takes 3 days during which time competitors perform tasks with tools and graphics software. They will also have to be able to change the software settings according to the usage in question. The required level for the tasks is the computer user's AB card or the ECDL Advanced degree. Modules: interfacing, image processing, word processing, spreadsheets, databases and presentation graphics. You can find more information on the degrees required at http://www.tieke.fi. You do not have to have completed the degree. The task performances will be evaluated immediately after each section. The competition includes tool-specific tasks and fast sections where time and accuracy count. The competition performance is also accepted as a degree performance for the AB license. A good command of English is required from the participants. Some of the tasks and source materials may be in English.

The competition tasks in this category are based on the curriculum-based training of a basic vocational degree in Business and Administration and IT/Software Applications, and on the requirements of level 3 (on a scale of 1-3). Competitors must register by October 31, 2010.
